Every summer, thousands of visitors head to the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton for one of the most anticipated events in the Bay Area.
The Fair is known for its thrilling carnival rides, live concerts, family entertainment, livestock exhibits, shopping, agricultural displays, special events, fireworks, games, and community traditions. Whether you're visiting from Pleasanton, Livermore, Alamo, Walnut Creek, San Ramon, Dublin, Danville, Oakland, or Berkeley. The Alameda County Fair offers something for everyone.
While there are countless reasons to attend, one of my favorite parts of the Fair is the food.
With dozens of food vendors located throughout the fairgrounds, deciding where to eat can be almost as challenging as deciding which attraction to visit first. From authentic Mexican flavors and Mediterranean specialties to refreshing drinks, homemade desserts, and classic fair treats, the Alameda County Fair serves some of the best fair food in Northern California.
If you're planning a visit this year, these are my seven favorite food stands at the Alameda County Fair.
When I'm looking for bold flavor, Pepe Mariscos is always one of my first stops.
Their Al Pastor Taco delivers everything you want in great Mexican food: seasoned meat, fresh toppings, and authentic flavor. It's easy to enjoy while walking around the Fair and consistently ranks among my favorite savory options.
If you're searching for the best tacos at the Alameda County Fair, this is a great place to start.
Few things hit the spot like an Italian sausage and a basket of curly fries after a few hours of walking around the fairgrounds.
Zanos Italian Grill is known for serving crowd favorites, including pizza, Italian sausage, and crispy curly fries. It's comfort food done right and always attracts a steady line of hungry Fair visitors.
One of the most unique food vendors at the Alameda County Fair is The Sleek Greek.
Their Greek Fries offer a Mediterranean-inspired twist on a Fair favorite. Crispy, flavorful, and loaded with delicious seasonings, they're a great alternative to traditional carnival food.
If you're looking for something different, this stand is a hidden gem.
Summer days at the Fair can get warm, and that's when Boba King becomes one of my favorite stops.
Their refreshing fruit teas and milk teas provide the perfect way to cool down between rides, concerts, exhibits, and food stops.
A cold boba drink is the perfect companion for a day at the Alameda County Fair.
No summer event feels complete without ice cream.
J's Ice Cream serves classic frozen treats, but my personal favorite is the chocolate-covered banana. It's refreshing, nostalgic, and the perfect dessert after spending the day exploring the Fair.
The Cake Booth feels like a community bake sale in the middle of the Fair.
From cakes and cookies to homemade baked treats, it's one of those hidden gems that visitors often discover by accident and then return to year after year.
The Dough Show has become one of the most talked-about dessert vendors at the Fair.
Their Carnival Cookie delivers big flavor and a soft, delicious texture that makes it one of the best sweet treats on the grounds. It's the perfect way to finish a day of food adventures.
If I could only spend one day eating my way through the Alameda County Fair, here's exactly what I'd order:
