Step into a world of opulence and grandeur as we embark on a journey through the remarkable estate home of the late Kenneth Behring. Nestled in the prestigious gated community of Blackhawk, California, this magnificent property at 81 Eagle Ridge Place stands as a testament to Behring's visionary legacy. As a child growing up in the 80s, I vividly remember witnessing the development of Blackhawk, never imagining that one day I would have the privilege of writing about the most expensive home currently for sale in the Tri-Valley area. But what makes this residence truly special is not just its luxurious features, but also the profound impact that Kenneth Behring had on the world, particularly through his philanthropic endeavors with the Wheelchair Foundation. Join me as we delve into the captivating history of this extraordinary home and the remarkable man behind it.

This magnificent property holds a special place in my heart,  In the 1980s, when I was just a kid, I vividly remember witnessing the birth of Blackhawk. It was an exciting time, as Kenneth Behring, a true visionary, embarked on a mission to create a community that would redefine luxury living. Behring's dedication and passion for excellence led to the development of Blackhawk, a place where exclusivity and natural beauty seamlessly intertwine.

Priced at just under an astounding $25 million, this property is a testament to opulence and grandeur. Boasting breathtaking views of the surrounding Tri-Valley area, this home offers a sanctuary of tranquility and sophistication. With a sprawling 4.54 acres, this home features 6 bedrooms and 10.5 bathrooms, a 7000+/-SF ballroom complete with lounges and a walk-around bar, a chef’s kitchen, a caterer's kitchen, and two detached 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartments, ideal for accommodating guests or staff.

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by grand staircases and an elevator, ensuring easy access to every corner of the home. The interior design showcases an extensive use of wood, glass, and stone, creating a harmonious blend of natural elements and modern aesthetics. With floor-to-ceiling windows, the house is bathed in natural light, offering breathtaking 360-degree views of the surrounding landscape.

One of the standout features is an indoor waterfall, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere within the home. Wine enthusiasts will be delighted by the 10,000-bottle wine cellar and tasting room, perfect for hosting intimate gatherings or indulging in a private tasting experience.

Outside, the landscape design by Kimio Kimura is a true masterpiece, featuring multi-level koi ponds, a cascading waterfall, and a stunning pool and spa. An outdoor kitchen and dining pavilion provide the perfect setting for al fresco dining and entertaining. Sports enthusiasts will appreciate the presence of a tennis court, cantilevered over the hillside, offering a unique and picturesque playing experience.

Twelve years ago I had the privilege of joining the Pleasanton North Rotary in Pleasanton, where our club teamed up with Kenneth Behring, the founder of the Wheelchair Foundation. Together, we embarked on a mission to distribute wheelchairs to those in need all over the world. This collaboration not only showcased Behring's philanthropic spirit but also highlighted his unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.

As we conclude our journey through the $25 million Tri-Valley estate home, we can't help but be in awe of the remarkable life and achievements of Kenneth Behring. From his instrumental role in developing the Blackhawk Community to his philanthropic endeavors with the Wheelchair Foundation, Behring's impact is felt far beyond the walls of this extraordinary home.
